This 2012 competition called for the conversion of a disused factory into the new headquarters of the Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.
The tight site and dense programming called for an inventive approach towards creating a environmentally sustainable, communally-oriented and adaptable building.
The solution, created in collaboration with façade designer Asterios Agathos, was to envelop the building in a unique, breathable “skin” which allowed for natural lighting and ventilation of all major spaces, but allowed for visual transparency vertically and horizontally throughout the building.
