Situated on the ground floor unit of a shophouse in a bustling commercial area, our clients requested for a clinic design that fully utilised the floor area as efficiently as possible. Less than 90 square metres, one of the main challenges was to fulfil all of the clients’ requirements within the limited floor space without sacrificing spaciousness and access to natural light.

The design language continues from the shopfront throughout the interior spaces in order to create a distinct identity and environment. An abstracted design of the shopfront made out of powder coated steel and glass panels serves as a visual ‘pull’ from the main road it faces, with soft, undulating curved surfaces enveloping the main public areas in the clinic’s interior. Special care was given to the ceiling design in creating white-washed waves that are softly lit via concealed lights within them.

Scope of works included submissions to relevant authorities for approvals, detail drawings for tender and construction, as well as basic lighting design.
