Project Introduction
Jigsaw is the first high-rise, multi-residential development by Hock Seng Lee — a landmark project for a prominent Sarawak developer stepping into vertical living. IDC Architects was tasked with crafting a sales gallery that goes beyond display, within HSL’s flagship La Promenade Mall. More than just a display centre, the space includes a full-scale mock-up of a residential unit, offering visitors a tactile, immersive experience of life at Jigsaw while serving as the first physical touchpoint for potential homeowners.

Design Strategy
The gallery was conceived as an open and continuous interior, where spaces flow into one another without hard boundaries. This deliberate openness supports an intuitive visitor journey — allowing the public to wander freely between spaces while enabling the sales team to tell the story of Jigsaw naturally and conversationally.
One of the gallery’s defining moves is placing the show unit in direct view of the mall’s entrance. This creates a moment of quiet intrigue for passersby, drawing them in through a series of visual layers that gradually unfold as they move deeper into the space.

Interior Atmosphere
The show unit interior reflects IDC’s design ethos: clarity, warmth, and considered restraint. Neutral tones drawn from pebbles, soft timbers, and stone establish a calming, cohesive palette. Full-height kitchen cabinetry, custom wardrobes, and curated furniture demonstrate spatial efficiency without compromising warmth.
Subtle architectural gestures — such as breeze block walls, recessed lighting, and interior landscaping — soften the transitions between gallery and mock-up unit. The result is a showroom that feels more like a real home than a staged space.
