Sited within a highly-secured Combined Cycle Power Plant, the original inspiration behind the design of this 2-storey administration building were magnetic field and electrical current diagrams. The building is split in the middle by a central atrium, creating an illusion of “currents” flowing around the core. Taking into account the sensitive nature of the site, the building envelope was designed to stagger in and out; creating pockets of windows as opposed to large expanses of glass surfaces. Highly durable materials were carefully selected to ensure the longevity of the building under the effects of the harsh seaside environment.
This project was completed in October 2017.
