Situated in one of Kuching’s established commercial developments, the site is located on the ground floor of an existing 3-storey shophouse. Due to the relatively small floor area, careful consideration was given to plan the spatial requirements of the clinic that not only fulfilled the client’s brief, but the authorities’ regulations as well. The interior design of the clinic was intended to reflect the unique brand and identity of the dental practice through the customised wall panels composed of wood, glass and mirrored surfaces with varied, contrasting textures. The selection of materials and colours were purposely minimal in order to create a bright and open space that exuded a sense of professionalism as well. Scope of works included submissions to relevant authorities for approvals, detail drawings for tender and construction, as well as basic lighting design.
