The Marian Boutique Lodging House

he Marian Project involved the conversation of an existing lodging house for visiting church members into a boutique heritage hotel. The original building was a mansion belonging to the prominent Ong Family of Kuching. The existing structure and building elements were kept mostly intact, with extensions designed to blend into the existing building. Internal partitions and new bathrooms and amenities were added for the new intended function. The building occupies a very prominent location in the heart of Kuching, and the project has brought a renewed attention to one of the most handsome heritage buildings in the city.
